MiraVision Optical runs this website. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you use it, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Last updated 21 September 2026.
This page is about the website, not your eye exam
Read this first, because it is the part people get wrong. This policy covers miravisionoptical.net and nothing else.
What happens in the store — your eye exam, your prescription, what we send to your insurance — is health information and is handled separately, under the privacy notice we give you at the counter and the rules that apply to it. None of that goes through this website, and this page does not describe it. If you have a question about your records, ask us in the store or on the phone, not through the form.
What we collect
Only what you type into our contact form: first name, last name, email address, subject and your message. Nothing else. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, your date of birth, your insurance number, your prescription or any other health information through this website. The form says so above the fields, and we mean it: email is not a secure channel for medical data.
When you send the form, you are asking us to get back to you, so we will — by email or by phone if you give us a number in the message. We do not add you to any mailing list.
We do not sell your information
Not to anyone, for any price, ever. We do not rent it, we do not trade it, and we do not hand it to advertisers. What you send us goes to our own inbox so that a person at the store can answer you, and nowhere else.
Where it goes and how long we keep it
Messages are emailed to the store and are also stored inside this website so that we do not lose them. We keep them while they are useful to answer you and to keep a record of what was agreed, and we delete them when they no longer are. If you want your message deleted sooner, ask us and we will delete it.
The website is hosted in the United States.
Cookies
This site sets a cookie to remember whether you are reading it in English or in Spanish. If you send the contact form, the form may store a short-lived cookie so that your message is not submitted twice. That is all. There is no advertising cookie on this site and we do not track you across other websites.
Things on this site that come from Google
Two parts of this site are served by Google, which means your browser talks to Google when you load them:
- The maps on the contact and locations pages are Google Maps embeds.
- The typeface the site uses is loaded from Google Fonts.
In both cases Google receives your IP address and the usual technical information a browser sends. We do not control what Google does with it; their privacy policy covers that. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful: how many people come, which pages they read, roughly which city they are in and whether they are on a phone. It is set to anonymise IP addresses, it does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it for advertising. We also use Google Search Console, which only shows us which Google searches bring people to this site.
Links to other places
We link out to our listings on Google, and to Google Maps for directions. Once you leave this site you are on someone else’s, under their rules, and this page no longer applies.
What you can ask us for
Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. We will not make you jump through hoops and we will not charge you for it.
We give you these rights no matter where you live. Some privacy laws only apply to companies far larger than ours; rather than quote laws at you, we would rather just do the right thing for everyone. The fastest way is to email marketing@miravisionoptical.net or call the store.
Children
This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them through it. If you believe a child has sent us something through the form, tell us and we will delete it. Children are of course welcome in the store with an adult.
Security, honestly stated
The site runs over HTTPS and the contact form is protected against automated abuse. No website is perfectly secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise. That is exactly why we ask you not to send medical information through this form.
